Need Some Help From Experienced Nairobi Women...... Empty Need Some Help From Experienced Nairobi Women......

Good morning Everyone!
We are currently in the process of finalising a relocation to Nairobi from Europe with my husband's company.
This forum has been extremely helpful and insightful but I have now reached that stage when my mind will no longer effectively analyse all the information that has been stuffed into it!
So, can you help with the following:
- we have no children but do have two small indoor dogs. Should we consider bringing them? (If not, we have a contingency plan which involves them visiting my parents for an extended stay!)

- where would be a good area to live? We will have a healthy housing allowance and love peace and quiet (and no neighbours!)

- Having read a fair few posts on this site, I am now starting to worry about how we would furnish a house (including white goods). I am a bit reluctant to bring all our own furniture due to the warm, humid weather conditions (not being precious or snobby just saved for ages for some lovely pieces of modern furniture and would hate for them to ruined in a relatively short space of time) but could we purchase a whole houseful of furniture in Nairobi (which doesn't have Ikea!!)

- Is personal safety an issue? Does it stop you living your lives? Silly question but I would appreciate an honest and candid point of view.

So, enough already! Any replies would be greatly appreciated.....

Have just re-read my post and cannot help but feel it sounds as though it was written by Hyacinth Bucket! For those of you unfamiliar with British TV programmes, Hyacinth is a prissy woman with illusions of grandeur. Rest assured, that is not me at all!
I have given up my full-time job in primary education to relocate with my husband (who, incidentally, I met here after a nasty divorce and have now been together for five lovely years) and we are looking forward to embarking on an adventure together. I just like lists and order and want to be prepared!
On that note, has anyone got any advice for living in Nairobi?
Anyone?
At all?
Thanks xx
