Furnished apartment recs
Hi! It is likely that we'll be living in some sort of furnished apartment while we look for more permanent housing in Nairobi. I've looked a bit online at some of the options (Yaya Towers, Mimosa, etc.), but I was wondering if anyone has personal experience with a good place. We have small kids and I know some long-term stay hotels (like Fairview) don't allow them.
thanks!

Re: Furnished apartment recs
Yes. I would highly recommend the folks we are renting from, but it is located in Karen which may be too far out for you considering the places you are mentioning. We have a fully-furnished 2-bedroom that will be empty first of September. There is also a 3-bedroom next door that is available.
We have had a wonderful experience renting from them. If it is not too far away, let me know if you are interested and I will forward your information on to them.

Furnished apartments
Riverside Drive complex in Westlands may have furnished apartments, but could be pricey. It's a good, central location to start from though. Have a look at the kenyabuzz.com website - there might be some leads on there.
Good plan to get in touch with Texan Mzungu too. thx

Also try the free classified advert mag 'Xpat Link' - on www.xpatlink.info They always advertise properties for rent etc. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! Those websites look like they have lots of useful information. Rich is arriving today and he'll be looking at a few different ones. I'll post his impressions when he gets back home. The biggest challenge is finding a good location near ISK. That's goes for permanent housing, too. I know we'll have to deal with traffic, but I'd like to keep that to a minimum!

Apartment/accomodation
I guess you will be looking in the Spring Valley, Lower Kabete, Kitisuru areas which at least will be the right side of town and should not take you too long to commute to ISK.
